A. HOOBIE SCHOTT
Sacred and Profane, video, 2007

Schott works as a PhD student in the College of Education at The University of Iowa, studying identity, language, and new literacies, and as a teacher in an Cedar Rapids high school teaching language arts and new literacies.

Focusing on a native prairie remnant—a kind of quintessentially Iowan space that scarcely exists anymore—the short film "Sacred and Profane" is an examination of diverse and overlapping ways in which we understand the value of significant spaces.
