BRITTANY RAIN STONE
Cacti

The last time
I confronted
the empty house

brown boxes
safeguarded
possessions.

No longer
can its owner
be recognized.

On the patio
potted cacti
shriveled.

Needles fallen on
dappled plastic
lounge chairs.

Didn't know
they needed
water.
