LISA ROBERTS
Fifty-five degrees in December

It's a gift that's difficult to accept without reservation.
There's a tendency to hold back,
not spring wholeheartedly into the extended fall,
because sooner or later the jet stream is bound to drop,
and then we'll be left shivering
in the less-than-adequate clothing we've become ac-
customed to.
