MARTIN BELL
Morning in America

Poetry is like the pots and pans
In the kitchen cupboard,
Good for warming up the day.
Nothing beats a good breakfast
Even when there's a ruthless insect
With its tiny jowls and ringlets
Tearing open the dry cereal.
