Iowa Writes

ALECIA MAGNER
Poem

To dream that she was being beaten by her father.
To dream of her mother's death.
To dream of being shot by a cruel person.
To dream of being hurt deep deep deep down inside.
To dream of being somewhere she does not want to be.
To dream of herself happy forever.
To dream of living in a peaceful world.
To dream of her being lovely.
To dream of her shooting among the stars.
To dream of her being released into the wild.
