GREG DICKINSON
Cookie Medley, Acrylic on canvas, 24" x 36", 2016

Greg Dickinson graduated from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids in 1983 with a BA in Art. For many years, he has been the Clinton Weather Weather Watcher for WQAD News 8. Greg's work is inspired by Andy Warhol, animated film, and television newscasters, and his paintings have been shown at QC Arts, the Figge Art Museum, Augustana College, and the Nabisco Corporation Gallery in 1997.

Greg is currently working on a series of paintings to be shown at the QC Arts Gallery in May 2018 and the Maquoketa Art Experience Gallery. His work ethic and joy of painting is evident in the methodical rhythm you can sense in his work. His friend (and fellow Daily Palette featured artist!) Ellen Wagener explains, "It's like when you see a Van Gogh in person and it literally vibrates with energy and nearly jumps of the wall to see his paintings. He works in series, often repeating a theme over and over with new color combinations and patterns. Shown together they make wonderful grids, long lines of sweet treats, and a sly comment on happiness, celebrity, and finding the joy in the everyday." Greg says, "I paint to make people happy."
