In his own words:
To draw inspiration, I look to the Iowa Landscape and the group of friends that surround me. The beauty & drama of light and shadow. Weather it is on the land, figure or still life, presents challenges. The challenge of finding within the composition the rhythm & form, that expresses what you want to say. Not until that final stroke of paint is put down, and the viewer makes that connection, do I feel that I have communicated what I have experienced to the viewer.
